We follow the story of Johnathen, a human, and Thyra, a gryphoness, who live as a married couple in the Deep South. Until recently, the thought of an interspecies couple outraged many people, but it has gradually been accepted in mainstream society. The overly righteous groups, however, have fought every step of the way to keep such marriages illegal, and to convince others that these couples are an abomination.

Gryphball has changed the world of sports forever. Football, basketball, baseball, and soccer have been tossed to the wayside as gryphons now dominate every sports channel in existence. Stadiums seemed to erect over night as the phenomenon caught like wildfire. Workplaces are filled with chatter about last nights game, the sports bars display merch of their home gryphball team proudly, and all eyes are on the field. Gryphons have become mainstream media and in time, became stars.

The modern world is expensive and vast with many changes made to cater to gryphons. Some cities invented drastic improvements in order to better cater to gryphon kind, while other towns have done the opposite. The new species are more or less accepted in most of the world but some still shun their existence. With a new breed of sentient creatures comes innovation for industry. Both major corporations and fresh start up companies have jumped at the opportunity to create new fashion lines, furniture, personal smart phones and electronics for this upcoming population.

Religious zealots rebuke the gryphons as the devils creations and attempt to turn the general population against them. Ghosts from the past come back to haunt our protagonists, further testing their strength in one another. We see the band put through more strife and chaos than they deserve, but there is always a warm thermal to glide on after a blizzard. With twists and turns around every corner, it will take a strong bond between one another to see themselves through.
